Hello everyone! This month we are setting out to update a couple of spaces to prepare for the spring and summer. As you will see, we wanted to refresh our outdoor patio area and our indoor sunroom with a few Vigoro products that are exclusively sold at The Home Depot.
Whether it was potting soil, landscape fabric, raised planters, or indoor and outdoor plants, we found that Vigoro offers total lawn and garden care solutions with lots of innovative products at a great value. Not to mention, they are perfect for beginner to novice gardeners!
If you follow me on my social channels you might remember that last summer we built an outdoor brick patio with string-light planters. We have been loving our new patio, but the wintertime definitely took a toll on the flowers we planted there. I *think* we have had our last freeze here in Georgia so it is time to refresh our planters with new potting soil and add new flowers and plants.
Having big planters around is such a simple way to bring some beauty and color to any space. We have added a few on our front porch as well as the planters on the patio. If you are wanting to add a planter this Spring, Vigoro sells a large wooden barrel planter that would be perfect for any area.
My family and I filled our planters with the new potting mix and a few flowers for an easy, affordable, and immediate upgrade. This time we chose to plant Vigoro Variegated Ivy which will do a little better when the temperature drops again this Fall.
After refreshing our planters, my daughter and I built the Vigoro Elevated Cedar Garden Bed and it was very easy to assemble without any nails or screws. You can check my Instagram for a video of how simple it was to put together. I highly recommend it as a project to do with kids!
After assembly, we cut some Vigoro Landscape Fabric to lay inside the planter and just poured in the All-Purpose Potting Mix. We then mixed in a scoop of the Vigoro All-Purpose Plant Food and then planted a few vegetables.
If you are a beginner like me or if you do not have the space for an in-ground garden, then I hope this encourages you by seeing how easy it can be to freshen up an outdoor space or create a designated place to plant a little garden.
Complete confession: my wife and I are still beginners when it comes to taking care of indoor plants, but we are learning as we go! Years ago we tried to have indoor plants, but we were never successful at keeping them alive. However, I am excited to share that all of the plants we bought last summer have survived this winter and seem to be thriving this growing season!
Since our Vigoro indoor plants survived the winter, we decided to get a few more for our sunroom. We visited our local Home Depot and found a large selection of Ficus lyrata, zz plants, spathiphyllum, monstera, sansevieria, and pothos. Yes, those names are strange if you have never seen them before, but we have been slowly learning how to take care of each one. The Vigoro plants we purchased last year proved to be better quality than others which is why we now have greater confidence for better success and taking on more Vigoro plants.
Not only does Vigoro have a large selection of indoor plants, but they also have a nice selection of plant stands and rolling stands. We wanted to elevate the plants off the floor and closer to the base of our windows as you can see here. Not only does this help keep the floor clean but it increases access to sunlight.

By the way, you can also visit my Instagram and TikTok pages if you are interested in seeing how I made this hanging wooden plant shelf for some of our smaller indoor plants. It was also a super easy project and now allows us to take advantage of the sunlight coming through the windows.
What do you think? We are thrilled that everything came together so easily and very happy with the various Vigoro products we selected. We were able to spend just a few hours outside on the patio and inside our sunroom and now feel like we are in full swing for the spring and summer!
Thanks so much for visiting the blog today!
